We are a family of 5 who live in Wheatbelt Western Australia on our very small-scale working homestead.
Our goal is small-scale self-sufficiency, focusing on reuse, reduce, and recycle all while showing you dont have to "rough it" or go without.
We want you to see that you too can achieve a high level of self-sufficiency with some patience, resourcefulness, minimal money, a little space, and imagination.
We currently specialise in day-old Australorp chickens and muscovy ducks. These breeds have been chosen as they are not only the perfect dual-purpose birds but they are also docile in nature making them the perfect family pet.
We also have an online store for you to purchase our awesome handcrafted products, supplies and produce.

How we're doing our bit for the environment.
Here at The Tiny Homestead we are constantly working, brainstorming and finding new ways to be sustainable and low-impact.
We search high and low for used, seconds, and reclaimed building materials for as much of our building and renovation as possible. Getting creative to find low-impact solutions is all part of the fun.
We also employ a "natural" life where we can. Choosing to use chemical free, natural alternatives in our home and bodies as well as growing as much of our own food as possible and catching rainwater for gardens and livestock (at the moment. This will eventually expand to our home)
